Facilities are available Sunday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to
11:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
Since La Villita is a
City owned facility, LIABILITY INSURANCE is a required
additional cost of $175. This can be covered by the clients own insurance
through an issued certificate of insurance that adds the City of San
Antonio as "additional insured". Additional Information
on Security, Caterers, and the Rules and Regulations can be
e-mailed, faxed, or mailed out. The Deposit will hold
the facility and required after 10 days of the request. This is also a
damage and cleanup fee and can be refunded after the event.
To rent any of the plazas there are a few requirements:

Upon reserving a plaza, an approved caterer of your choice may be hired;
tables and chairs are provided. Areas may be attractively decorated,
live or recorded music is welcome, portable power stations are available
for additional electricity as needed.

1. Excessive
noise and/or extremely loud music are prohibited. Event sponsors
must reduce sound level upon request. A decibel meter is used to monitor
sound levels, which must not exceed 72 dB.
2. Motor vehicles
are not allowed on King Philip V Street or Hidalgo Walk. Special
permission must be obtained from the Facilities Manager of La Villita to
load and unload on Maverick Plaza. Villita Street is opened between 7:00
a.m. - 10:30 a.m. daily for deliveries (enter from Presa Street only).
3. Due to public
access to La Villita shops, gates will not be closed nor can any admission
be charged until 6:00 p.m.
4. At no time shall
entrances, passages, exits, walkways, entrance to shops or patios, or
handicapped access be blocked or caused to be non-functional. NO
EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
5. Nails, hooks,
tacks, screws, stakes or similar devices may not be driven into walls
of building or park fixtures. No adhesive material of any sort is
allowed on painted surfaces. Damages caused by such actions will result
in automatic forfeiture of the damage deposit.
6. Posters
and their locations announcing upcoming events must be approved in
advance by the Facilities Manager of La Villita.
7. Tent type
structures are typically not allowed on La Villita premises; in the
event of inclement weather, any tent must be approved by the Facilities
Manager. In this event, all tent poles must be supported by "water
barrels"; no stakes of any kind will be permitted for use at the La
Villita/ or HemisFair facilities.
8. Licensee shall
employ police officers at the rate recommended by the Police
Department Off-Duty Unit for the authorized event. Please call
210/207-7020 for information on rates.
9. The Facilities
Manager of La Villita must be consulted regarding requests for start
times prior to 6:00 p.m. to avoid conflicts with regular La Villita
activities. Events must end at 11:00 p.m. on each evening, except
Saturday when events may continue until 12:00 midnight.
10. The clean-up
of general litter and removal of decorations is the responsibility of
the licensee. If cleaning is neglected or inadequate the damage deposit
will be forfeited. Beverages may not be served in glass containers. The
caterer is responsible for the safe removal of all glass containers in
which food & beverages may have been delivered. Violation of the
glass container policy may result in forfeiture of damage deposit. All
equipment brought in by licensee must be removed immediately following
the event. THE CITY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EQUIPMENT USED
BY LICENSEE.
11. Barbecue pits
are allowed to be used at the facilities; however, non-permeable
protective sheets (such as vinyl, rubber, roofing paper, plywood, etc.)
MUST be placed underneath the pits to protect all ground surfaces. NO
EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Deep fryers or other types of cooking
appliances that utilize grease and/or oil for food preparation must also
have the same type of protective sheet(s) placed beneath them as the
barbecue pits.
12. A Texas
Alcoholic Beverage Commission permit is required of Licensee or
its caterer(s) when hosting an event that features alcoholic beverages;
copies of the current permit and the applicable alcohol liability
insurance certificate are required before the short-term license
agreement will be approved.
13. Permanent restrooms
on the premises will be cleaned and serviced by La Villita staff prior
to start of Licensee's event and may be cleaned and serviced during
Licensee's event. Licensee is hereby advised that the City will not have
availability of male/female staff restroom attendants for facility
restrooms. If Licensee desires such service, Licensee shall hire such
attendants at this/her own expense.
