Nueva Street Gallery shows the work of Texas contemporary artists. Works in oil, watercolor, photography, sculpture, pottery, mixed media, jewelry and prints of original artworks.

Visitors are delighted by the 120 year old building with its stunning skylight, tall windows and high ceilings- the perfect backdrop for the contemporary artworks shown. Nueva Street Gallery has been a jewel in La Villita for 21-plus years and has developed a solid reputation for quality, sophisticated art chosen by visitors and San Antonians alike, and ships world-wide.

Artist/owner Susan Carlin has painted commissioned portraits for 35 years and paints much of her work in the gallery while she enjoys meeting and talking with visitors. Beyond her expressive portraiture, she also paints still life and landscapes. Susan teaches painting workshops in person and online, and broadcasts a live weekly online painting show.

Nueva Street Gallery has three entrances- one on Nueva Street directly: 507 E. Nueva Street, with the charm of its Victorian porch. The other two entrances are within the wall of La Villita: on the west side facing Plaza Nacional, and on the east side facing King Phillip St. and Maverick Plaza.
